Responsibilities

 

Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform work assigned within a reasonable time and quality in accordance with factory and dealership standards. 
  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders and document same
  • Attend all factory-sponsored training classes and scheduled service meetings. 
  • Familiarize self with all technical bulletins as handed down by the factory. 
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts to complete tasks. 
  • Communicate with service advisor, parts department and customers as needed. 
  • Keep car clean while working on it. 
  • May road test vehicles (manual and automatic)Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or factory standards
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including flushes, oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.

 

 

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate:

  • Must be detail oriented and have solid automotive repair skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clear, legible handwriting.  Above average math ability
  • Must have a clean, well groomed and professional appearance and an enthusiastic attitude at all times. 
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving history.
  • High School diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. 

 

This is a physically demanding position. Will stand for several hours each shift. Some duties may be performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Manual dexterity is required. Tugging, pulling, pushing, and climbing are physical requirements of this position. Will be exposed to noise, dust, vibration, exhaust fumes, cleaning solvents, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must have a clean, well-groomed and professional appearance and an enthusiastic attitude at all times.
